Ellie Jane Goulding is a British born on 30 December 1986. Her mother Tracey Goulding Summers worked in a supermarket and her dad Arthur Goulding was a member of the family known as an undertaker. Goulding is the second baby of the family has an older sister named Isabel as well as a younger sister named Jordan. Alex, her brother is an accomplished bassist and Hereford Band members. When she was a young girl, her mother encouraged the young woman to take up music. At nine, she began learning to play the clarinet.
